I had the pleasure to spend this beautiful New Years Day in Sayulita, Mexico to give a talk about healing super foods, along with touching upon topics such as the importance of alkalizing your body and finding a balance within the foods we eat and our emotional bodies. During this talk I offered some raw energy balls that were packed full of a local ingredient, moringa, among other goodies. Below is the recipe to make these delicious, energy packed snacks:
Moringa Energy Balls
Ingredients:
- 5 to 7 seedless dates
- 3 tbsp almond butter
- 3 tbsp moringa powder
- 1 tbsp coconut flour
- 1 tbsp cold water
- 1 tbsp raw honey
- 3 tsp maca
- 3 tsp turmeric
- 2 tsp chia seeds
- 2 tsp carob powder
- 2 tsp freshly chopped ginger
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp raw vanilla extract
- Place pitted dates and raw honey in the food processor and process to obtain fine, sticky crumbles.
- Save aside 1 tbsp of moringa powder on a plate to roll the balls in
- Add the remaining ingredients into the food process and blend together to get a crumbly paste
- Use your palms to create small balls
- Roll over the balls on the plate dusted with moringa powder
- Store in the refrigerator for a maximum of two weeks
